Our First Day

We survived the plane to land in beautiful London.  No sleep on the plane, at least not enough to make it count, so early to bed here in a few minutes.  The ride went so much smoother than I thought and they even served us dinner at 11!  Nothing beats eating that late at night;)  We also got a free breakfast so I feel we got our huge plane ticket price justified.

The car, as you will see if Tim can get the picture up, was very nice.  The only problem was we couldn't figure out how to turn it on and Tim hadn't driven a manual for a long time.  It worked out well in the end and we made it to Windsor.

Windsor was a beautiful castle.  I was amazed and the artistry that went into everything there.  Sadly, you can't take pictures inside the castle so you will just have to believe me.  We did get a lot of pictures of the outside to enjoy.  Inside we saw armor worn by Henry the VIII, Queen Mary's HUGE dollhouse, and other very beautiful rooms and gardens.

We checked into our room and it was amazing!  First they gave us the wrong room which was a little embarassing when we kept trying the key and the people in it came and nicely  told us it was taken.  When we got our new room we walked into dark mahogany tables and dresseres, wing back chairs and a HUGE canopy bed.  The bathroom was up a step with black and white tile and a bathtub you could swim in.  There were even complimentary bath robes for us to wear. (They gross me out so we haven't tried them).

After seeing our room we walked until we found a little cafe and shopping area where we ate at a gourmet burger kitchen and then walked to the main gates of Windsor.  It was so beautiful, I feel bad that we only have the one day here.  It's a must see for anyone thinking of traveling here.

Write to you tomorrow from Bath!
